BKPL Asset Management Co., Ltd. (the “BKPL”) is a private investment firm with expertise in alternative investments. BKPL owned by Balbec KPL Korea founded in 2015 with Balbec Capital LP., an affiliate of Starwood Capital Group and Balbec KPL Korea provides consulting and marketing advice to overseas firms doing business in Korea and assists Korean conglomerates and financial/institutional investors seeking investment opportunities overseas.
BKPL has managed ten funds of $400 million to invest in structure finance, credit opportunities, and IPOs. BKPL advises and assists more than 12 major Korean institutional investors (pension funds, financial institutions, and insurance companies) in their domestic and overseas investments.
BKPL will invest in buyout and highly structured minority investments in growth-oriented domestic and overseas companies by leveraging global networks of BKPL to source investment opportunities and create value for our portfolio companies.
Responsibilities for Investment Manager (Corporate/Credit):
Identifies and evaluates new investment opportunities by conducting due diligence meetings with potential managers, performing quantitative analyses, conducting reference calls, and preparing written investment memoranda.
Contributes to investment management decisions by monitoring the global economic and market environment and researching potential long-term, thematic investment opportunities across asset classes.
Analyzes financial information of current and prospective investment funds.
Performs quantitative analyses of the portfolio, individual asset classes, and current and prospective managers.
Reviews key terms within legal documents of prospective investment funds.
Performs industry research and analysis to help inform portfolio allocation and senior manager selection decisions.
Qualifications for Investment Manager (Corporate/Credit):
BA or BS in business, finance, investment, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience in investment and financial asset management as an analyst or assistant manager in a financial institution environment.
Strong understanding of investment strategies and risk management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Genuine interest and enthusiasm for economic and financial market trends.
